Art On Ice celebrates its 20th birthday

The most memorable show of the year in Switzerland:

If there is one show not to miss in the winter, it is Art On Ice. Since 1994 the ice gala has made the happiness of thousands of people. The event takes place in the Zurich Hallenstadion before heading to Lausanne and Davos.

The organizers, Reto Caviezel and Oliver Höner, invite the best Swiss and international figure skaters of the moment. This year the beloved Swiss skater and 2011 European Champion, Sarah Meier, who has been at Art on Ice 13 times, will be ending her career after the shows.

  • Ksenia Stolbova & Fedor Klimov (2014 Olympic champion in the team Russia event)
  • Carolina Kostner (2012 World champion)
  • Daisuke Takahashi (2010 World champion)
  • Fiona Gabrielle Zaldua & Dmitri Sukhanov
  • Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron (French ice dancers, who won Silver at the 2013 Junior World championships)

What makes Art on Ice so special is its live music. The artists invited for the show are:

  • Nelly Furtado, the well known Canadian singer, who won a Grammy in 2002 for her hit “I’m Like A Bird”.
  • Marc Sway, who got famous for his 2008 single “Severina”. He has also been in the show “The Voice of Switzerland”.
  • Tom Odell, a young British singer, who made his debut in 2013 with “Long Way Down”.

There is no doubt you will spend an unforgettable time at Art on Ice and will become a fan for the years to come!
