Beauty, Brain & Mood Food

Do you wish you could look younger, feel more energetic and live stress free?

Numerous research in the field of nutrition, dieting and anti-aging have shown that what you eat and drink make a difference in the way you look, perform and feel.

In Switzerland, the talented chef of the Park Hyatt restaurant, Frank Widmer, and the well-known nutritionist, Marianne Botta Diener, have worked together to change the entire lunch menus. It has been a challenge for the restaurant team, who started already in the Spring 2013. After eight months of work, numerous trainings of the cooks and talks between Frank and Marianne, it was ready for the new menus to be launched.

The main goal for Widmer and Botta was to show that healthy food can look good, taste good and be enjoyed.

When you come for lunch in the lobby you can now choose between the beauty, brain and food menus. But what is all this about?

Some dishes, containing some Zinc, will help against hair loss and some with calcium against the dryness of your skin. Vitamins C & E are important. Some of the dishes are good to fight against cholesterol, Parkinson and Alzheimer diseases and various cancers.

Frank Widmer cooks with oils such as olive oil or rapseed oil and proposes dishes with low starch and rich in Omega 6 & 3. Iron is very important if you would like to concentrate better.

Frank Widmer uses parsley, known to have many minerals and vitamins, and makes dishes rich in vitamins B, good for the nerves. Dishes with lots of iron are good to gain energy.

TIP: drink green tea and eat ginger to keep you happy!

For Frank Widmer, executive chef of the parkhuus Restaurant in Zurich for the last decade, his collaboration with Marianne Botta is “a perfect match”. He once saw one of her workshops and found her easy to understand. She is known for her books on nutrition and cooking with children. Marianne is a busy mother, cooking daily for her eight children. Frank Widmer got really interested in nutrition menus as it is important to him as a father of two.

Is eating a burger and a bit of chocolate sometimes allowed? Marianne agrees than it is ok once in a while! But what’s important is when you do eat that piece of chocolate, then enjoy it!

While Marianne gives tips to Frank and his team, it is Frank who makes the menus. They will be changed according to seasons, but some dishes will stay like the salmon. The menus are easy to digest and you can choose between 2 or 3 courses. Price varies between 49-54 CHF for 2 courses to 59-64 CHF for 3 courses. If you prefer you can choose dishes individually from each menu.

Marianne Botta recognizes that changing your diet will take a while to see some results and that eating well has to be done more than one time a week. “For example, our skin regenerates roughly twice a month, and our hair does the same once every three months,” she explains during lunch at the Park Hyatt Hotel. For Frank Widmer he will have to wait and see what the new menus will do on his “brain, beauty and attractiveness.”

So, are you ready to try one of these tasty dishes? You may soon become a frequent customer of the Park Hyatt and a real lover of healthy food!
