Director Roman Polanski is coming to Zurich on Sept. 27th

Today the Zurich Film Festival announced in their website that Director Roman Polanski will be coming to Zurich next week. He will get the life achievement  award at the Zurich Film Festival he was supposed to receive in September 2009 when he was arrested.

The two directors, Karl Spoerri and Nadja Schildknecht, are happy to finally be able to meet him in person and present him the award on September 27th.

After the announcement today they told the Press ”We are especially proud to welcome Roman Polanski this year to receive his award. We have always been tremendous admirers of his work and we are delighted that we will soon be able to express this to him in person.”

Among other films, Polanski is known for  his Oscars for Rosemary Baby (1968), Chinatown (1974), Tess (1979) and more recently for the Pianist (2002).

After the award will follow a surprise World Premiere film at the Corso Theater 1 in Bellevue.
