Hiking to Mount Rigi (Lucerne)

You love hiking, then why not heading to Mount Rigi this month?

Rigi is beautiful all year long. It is located in the canton of Lucerne at an altitude of 1800 meters and about 35-40 minutes from Zurich.

Drive to Arth Goldau or Vitznau to take a cogwheel train or to Weggis for a gondola.

In Arth/Goldau, take the cogwheel train to Rigi Kulm: operates since 1875. Count a 45 minute ride to get to the top.

The train going from Vitznau to Rigi Kulm became in 1871 the first European railway.

There are possibilities for walks for all types of walkers:experienced or not, slow or fast, Nordic walkers and even with wheelchairs or baby carriages.

You will enjoy sights of the Lake of Lucerne with the island of Vitznau. It is good for young children still sitting in a stroller or for older children. Also you will find easy paths from Känzeli. You can choose paths going from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
