“American Hustle” directed by David O. Russell is an action film featuring great actors such as Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro.

It is a long film (129 min) but it is so entertaining you don’t see the time go by. The duo made of Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) and Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) plays two scammers. They are forced to help the FBI agent, Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper), to bring corrupted politicians to justice. One of them is the mayor of Camden, Carmine Polito (Jeremy Renner).

The film is based on the 1970’s FBI “Abscam scandal” and takes place in New York Long Island, Brooklyn and other places in New York city. Judy Becky, the set designer and the costume designer, Michael Wilkinson, did an amazing job in recreating the atmosphere of the 70’s. Becker had worked with O. Russell on other movies.
American Hustle was nominated for 7 awards at the Golden Globes and for 6 at the Oscars.
