The Galeries Lafayette celebrate the 100th year of their dome

The Art Nouveau dome in the famous Galeries Lafayette in Paris, Boulevard Haussmann, is hundred years old this year. While the luxury French department store opened its doors a few years before, in 1893, the dome was only added on October 8th 1912.

For the celebration of the “Noel du siècle”, the crystal company Swarovski brought a 21 meter high tree inside the Galeries, just under the dome. It is now the tallest Swarovski tree in Europe. Louis Vuitton has beautifully decorated many shop windows with pinguins and bears. There are many Disney figures such as Blanche-Neige, Belle and Cenderella. Cenderella even came to greet the children with her coach!
