The Locarno International Film Festival is about to start:
If you are in Locarno or in the area, the International Film Festival will be going on from August 3rd to August 13th.
This year the festival for its 64th time will welcome many stars such as Isabelle Huppert, Guy Bedos, Pierre Richard, Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig and of course Claudia Cardinale who will receive a special prize.
Twenty movies will be shown – 14 Premiere
If you like Isabelle Huppert she will receive an award from Moët & Chandon on the Piazza Grande on August 9th.
- The opening movie is an American film called Super 8 – August 3rd
- The closing movie is a French/German movie “Et si on vivait tous ensemble” “And if we lived all together” with Daniel Brühl and Jane Fonda.
- Cowboys & Aliens with Harrison Ford will be shown on August 6th – European Premiere

The movies are shown during day and night times.
Where: Piazza Grande
Rain: movies are not cancelled but shown later in a large indoor theater.
Price: between 15 to 22 CHF per person depending on the time of your movie
