Finally, after 18 years and more than 120 salons, it is making a halt of three days in the country of chocolate. The founders, Sylvie Douce and François Jeantet, choose Zurich for the show.  After Japan in January, Marseille in February, Bordeaux and Lille in March, it will be in Zurich Oerlikon from March 30th to April 1st before heading to Bahia.

A great number of chocolatiers and designers are expected such as Confiserie Sprüngli, Lindt, Beschle, Jean-Paul Hevin, Villars Chocolatier, Ladurée, Camille Bloch, Comptoir du Cacao, Jean Claude Jeanson, Philippe Pascoët, Confiseur Läderach and Maison Cailler.

The salon offers seminars in three languages. Visitors can learn about interesting facts about chocolate. There will be live-shows where you can see how to make profiteroles or duck with orange and chocolate for instance.

Famous hotels are represented: Hotel des Trois Couronnes in Vevey, Gstaad Palace in Gstaad, Grand Hotel Les Trois rois in Basel, Hotel Rigiblick in Zurich.

This is also an excellent place to bring your children. In the section Chocoland, children from 4 to 10 years old can join seminars. They can make chocolate creations, color and listen to stories.

Tonight, Thursday March 29th, the salon du chocolat starts with a private Chocolate Fashion Show! Models will be on the catwalk wearing fifteen chocolate creations with the theme opera.
