Three days in Davos/Klosters
Are you planning a small break to Davos/Klosters for the February holidays, a long weekend in January or maybe a visit during the World Economic Forum?

Then, here is what you could do during three days:
Day One:
Ski in the Parsenn mountains. Take the train in Davis Dorf. Look for the Parsenn cable. When you stop at Weissfluhjoch (2662 m) you can ski down or continue taking a cable to the top of the mountains to the Weissfluhgipfel (2844 m). There are many blue stops over there so it is ideal for beginners.You can also continue by taking a gondola to Schifer. There are lots of red slopes in that area. If you ski down it will bring you to Klosters. You can reach back Davos with the train.
There are many restaurants on the slopes to relax and enjoy the sun like the one at the cable top of Weissfluhjoch. It is perfect to spend some time if you are not skiing and would like to read a book and enjoy the views.

In the late afternoon after coffee and tea at your hotel or an Après Ski drink at a bar you may want to spend a few hours to unwind at the swimming pool “Eau-là-là”. It has a couple baths for adults, a diving pool, something for babies and toddlers, a slide and outdoor warm pool (33 to 34 degrees). There is also a wellness section with various saunas. Eau-là-là’s entrance costs 9 CHF per person without wellness. Children up to 6 years of age go for free.

Day Two:
If you are interested in hiking, take a hike from the Waldhotel and take the Thomas Mann Weg to the Magic Mountain. It is relatively easy and doable for children from the age of three. It will bring you to the Schatzalp hotel (an old sanatorium) where you can enjoy a lunch or a hot tea outside. It is beautiful and relaxing with great views of Davos.
If you have time take a look into the lobby of the Schatzalp hotel; the rooms are in the Art Nouveau style.
To go back down you can walk a different way or rent a sledge to use the toboggan run. It is 2.8 km long and really nice. You have to return the sledge at the Schatzalp cable.

Alternatively if you would rather want to sledge all day, you can take Schatzalp cable in Davos Platz. It costs 8 CHF per person to go up. (Daily passes are 30 CHF)
Above the Schatzalp is nice cozy restaurant, called Stresaalp. It takes about 15 minutes to walk and it offers great salads like the Nüssli salad and mountain dishes like raclette and cheese fondue.
If you are not too tired you could take a walk from Davos Platz to Davos Dorf and do some shopping in the many shops the town has.
Day Three:
Why not driving to Klosters for the day, located 17 km from Davos Dorf. Klosters is the village where the British royals love to come. Prince Charles and his children have often be seen there.
You can reach it with your car or by train. If you have children who are learning to ski, a good place to teach them is the small Heidi lift directly in town near the Madrisa cable. You can buy individual tickets for 3.50 CHF or a pass for 10 times. If you don’t finish it that day you can use it another day The place is opened daily from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Madrisa Land, Klosters (Switzerland)
If your child is more experienced you may prefer Madrisaland, a very child friendly place. You can park your car in the parking for 5 CHF on busy days. Take the gondola at Madrisa. It is mainly red slopes there and you can ski up to 2394 meters.
There, you will find numerous things to do for children. It is a children paradise with an igloo and many fun activities like using the bobs to slide down and several organized “magic carpets” to help your little ones up the hill.
There is a place for snacks (hot dogs until 3:00 p.m) and a self service cafeteria just at the top of the cable.
Hiking trail at Madrisa in Klosters
Madrisa is also nice for walks. You will find benches on the way, perfect to enjoy a lunch or a sunbath. For instance you could walk to the Zügenhüttli for lunch or cake!
