Usain Bolt comes to Zurich for Weltklasse Zurich

Usain Bolt, the fastest man on earth and 6 times Olympic Champion, will be in Zurich in a few days to compete at the IAAF Diamond League final event, the Weltklasse Zurich.

Twenty-five thousands athletic fans will be at the Letzigrund stadium on August 29th to watch him and other athletes.

It will be Bolt’s sixth participation this year. He said a few months back to reporters: “I am excited to go back to Zurich. I love the electric atmosphere at the stadium. And both the competition and the events during the week of the meeting are always extremely well organized”.

The Jamaican has just won 3 Gold medals at the World Athletic Championships in Moscow on August 18th. He finished the 200 meter race in 19.66 sec in front of Warren Weir.

There will be 17 events in Zurich from 19:14 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Some of the champions, who competed at the Moscow World Championships, will be in Zurich. Here is a list:

– David Storl (GER/shot put; at Weltklasse Zürich Zurich Main Station on Wednesday)
– Robert Harting (GER/discus throw)
– Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (JAM/100m und 200m; to run the women‘s 200m and the 4x100m relay race in Zurich)
– Christine Ohuruogu (GBR/400m; to run the women’s  200m in Zurich)
– Eunice Jepkoech Sum (KEN/800m)
– Meseret Defar (ETH, 5000m)
– Tirunesh Dibaba (ETH/10000 m; to run the women’s 5000m in Zurich)
– Zuzana Hejnova (CZE/400m h)
– Brittney Reese (USA/long jump)
– Valerie Adams (NZL/shot put; at Weltklasse Zürich at Zurich Main Station on Wednesday)
– Christina Obergföll (GER/javelin throw)

While all tickets are sold out, it is possible to get some at the last minute on the day of the event at the Letzigrund.
