A 5 day event for gourmet lovers:
Zurich’s table known as Il Tavolo will be back in Zurich from June 25th to June 29th. The food festival started in June 2012 and has been really popular.
Every year first top chefs from Zurich cook side by side either with guest chefs or Swiss VIPs.
The festival will start with a classy opening night at the world largest independent airline caterer, Gate Gourmet, located at the Zurich airport.
The chefs of the hosting hotels (Maurice Marro and Olivier Rais from the Baur au Lac, Sebastian Diegmann from the Eden au Lac, Frank Widmer from the Park Hyatt,Gion Fetz from The Dolder Grand, Fredi Nussbaum from the Storchen Zürich, Dietmar Sawyere from the Widder Hotel) and guest chefs will cook various delicious dishes at seven cooking stations. Five hundred guests are expected for that evening.
The “Dashing Cooks” event will be on the second night. Six guest chefs (Arno Abächerli from the Auberge de la Croix Blanche, Chris Bell from The Galgorm Castle, Sascha Kemmerer from the Ifen Hotel, Sandro Steingruber from Acasa Catering, Paul Stradner from Brenners Park-Restaurant and Alyn Williams from the Westbury hotel) will join the other chefs. It is a night when chefs race from one hotel to another to prepare dishes.
On Friday June 27th Il Tavolo proposes the “Evening with the Stars”. In each hotel there will be cooking duels and various events.
The Mercato Lunch and Mercato Dinner will be on Saturday June 28th at the Zurich’s Engrosmarkt. Guest chefs will cook together with the six chefs of the hosting hotels. The participating chefs come from the Blauen Ente’s “Provisorium”, the Café Boy, Restaurant Bärengasse, Le Chef, Restaurant Spice Rigiblick, Kaiser’s, Reblaube, Drei Stuben and Da Angela.
A 200-meter long table will be laid for this event and for the Sunday Family Brunch at the Zurich’s Engrosmarkt.
