Javier Reyes opened the evening’s fashion show with his new collection, which many people had been waiting for eagerly. He shared after the show that he got the inspiration during his last summer trip to Mexico. There while walking he found a cotton fabric of violet colour with a print on it. The print had an Aztec symbol and when Reyes saw it he confessed he became really excited and had to buy it. It reminded him of the American designer William Spratling, who is known as the “father of  contemporary Mexican silver”.

Back in his atelier in Bern with the cloth he cherished, he decided to use the fabric on some of his outfits and again reuse the symbols on some of the shoes. The collection is chic, for women who want to feel comfortable. The outfits mainly made of organza, silk, cotton, linen, extra fine jersey, cashmere, are wearable. Many dresses and skirts are not cut close to the body and you feel they move with you through movement. It will be just perfect for the nice spring and summer days. Look for yourself at these beautiful colours and designs!

The last label for the evening was Good & Vitalini St. Moritz, with lots of fabrics from Jakob Schlaepfer. The two designers, Danja Good & Silvano Vitalini, blew away the crowd with their amazing mixture of classical and avant-garde clothing and the last ballgown!

The night before was the international night at the Schiffbau with four new collections. Pepa Salazar, a Spanish woman in her early twenties, was very well acclaimed. She was inspired by the primitive cultures who like to wrap their bodies with clothing. She had many nice dresses with knots. Frankie Morello’s (Pierfrancesco Gigliotti & Maurizio Modica) new collection is colourful with lots of food motives. Among all the beautiful outfits was the red top with blue shells. Cushnie et Ochs brought a chic and sexy collection to Zurich. For the two women from New York, fashion is important as it is how we show ourselves to the rest of the world.

Many beautiful models were seen on the Zurich’s catwalk like the Argau model Anja Leuenberger, Katerina Smutok and Lena Gercke. One of the VIPs was the American model, Karlie Kloss. She was invited for the International night. Kloss has been on the cover of many fashion magazines, has done fashion shows for Victoria Secret, Karl Lagerfeld and Gucci and many advertisements for world-known designers such as Alexander McQueen, Lacoste and Donna Karan. She arrived in one of the luxurious black Mercedes-Benz wearing an elegant tight outfit from her favourite label Cushnie et Ochs.

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Days will be back in Zurich next November for the pleasure of many.
