The town of Zurich will host its 11th Marathon this year on April 7th. It is not too late to register. You can do it until March 24th. Fees vary depending what you choose to run for: the Marathon (42.195 km) is 130 CHF, the team run is 260 CHF and the 10 km run is 65 CHF.
The marathon will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Zurich Mythenquai and the finish line is at the Hafendamm in Zurich Enge. The last runner has to be finished by 2:00 p.m.
Last year for the 10th marathon, 8646 people signed up. 90% of the runners came from Switzerland, followed by Germany with over 4%.
The winner, Franklin Chepkwony, was a 28 years old man from Kenia.
Runner love coming to the Zurich Marathon because the course is known to be very flat. Bruno Lafranchi, chairman of the committee and also a former Olympic competitor says in a press release «Our marathon course is known for its speed. Over 70 percent of all athletes run their fastest races here in Zurich.”
