It was a magical week for Ukranian Tatiana Volosozhar (27) and her Russian partner Maxim Trankov (30) as the two won not one gold medal at the Winter Olympic Games but two.
Tatiana and Maxim have been skating as a pair since the season 2010/11 and in Sochi it was their first participation at the Olympics together. They scored 84.17 in the short program with the Masquerade waltz and 156.69 in the figure skating competition with the music of Jesus Christ Superstar!
The Olympic champions in Sochi already won many titles like the European Championship in 2011/12, 2012/13, 2013/14 and the World Championship in 2012/13.
Both live in Moscow. They are now part of history being the first pair to win two Gold medals in one Olympic Games and the first winning pair in their home country since 1936.
Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov will be at Art on Ice in Zurich (February 27th to March 2nd), Lausanne (March 4th & 5th), Davos (March 7th & 8th), Helsinki (March 11th) and Stockholm (March 13th). Here is your chance to watch the new champions of Sochi.
