Cate Blanchett, Benicio del Toro & Peter Lindbergh come to Zurich

The organizers of the Zurich Film Festival just announced that two Oscar winners, Australian actress Cate Blanchett and Puerto Rican actor Benicio del Toro will be at the 10th film festival starting on September 25th.

Cate Blanchett will open an exclusive exhibition at the festival centre at the Sechseläutenplatz with the well-known German photographer, Peter Lindbergh. At the invitation of IWC Schaffhausen, Lindbergh will show some of his photographs, which were shot in the Spring in Portofino, Italy.

 

cate Blanchett - Photo Peter Lindbergh sliderOut of the 20.000 photographs he made, 60 were selected for the exhibition. The exhibition, called Timeless Portofino, will be open to the public from September 28 until October 5th.

The CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, George Kern, and the ZFF Co-Directors Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri will be there.

“As a partner of the Zurich Film Festival, we wanted to offer visitors something special. We therefore decided to show ,Timeless Portofino’ in Zurich before it goes travelling around the globe”, said Georges Kern. Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri declare: “We are delighted and honoured that Cate Blanchett, one of the most sough-after stars in Hollywood is coming to the ZFF to open this exclusive exhibition together with Peter Lindbergh.”

Cate Blanchett, who is also coming to present the last film of Director Woody Allen’s “BLUE JASMINE”, will be at the Cinema Corso afer the film to answer questions.

Academy Award Winner Benicio del Toro will be at the festival on September 28th for the Gala Première of his film  “PARADISE LOST”.

Josh Hutcherson (THE HUNGER GAMES series, BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA) , Claudia Traisac (AMANECER EN ASIA) and the director Andrea di Stefano will also be there to present the film.

Benicio del Toro is known for his amazing roles in TRAFFIC, CHE and THE USUAL SUSPECTS.

ABOUT THE FILM ESCOBAR: PARADISE LOST:

It “follows the life of notorious Columbian drug baron Pablo Escobar. A young Canadian surfer, Nick (Josh Hutcherson), travels to the Columbian coast in search of the perfect waves and finds Maria, the woman of his dreams. His problems begin when he gets to know her uncle – the notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar (Benicio del Toro).

While Maria is busy campaigning for her beloved politician uncle, Nick is soon introduced to the family of his love, and invited to celebrate the Patròn’s birthday at his luxurious residence‚ ‘La Hacienda.’ This new environment is as equally fascinating to the young man as it is unsettling. When he realises what he’s got himself into, it’s already too late.”
