Mundjinga Kambundji: best Swiss woman athlete of the year

We had the chance to meet with Mundjinga Kambundji last week when she was elected best Swiss woman athlete of 2019. The 27 years old sprinter from Bern was giving interviews on the red carpet of the Credit Suisse Sports Awards.

Before knowing she would be crowned she said how exciting she was to be nominated. She explained how winning her bronze medal in Doha at the World Championships will remain her most special moment of the year. She became the second woman in Swiss history to win one for the 200 meters. 

She said that her goal for 2020 are the Olympic games where she wants to be able to make her best performance of the year in finals or semi-finals. She won´t change much her training plans next year.

Beautifully dressed in a glamour red dress she said that it is not difficult in athletics to continue remaining femine. She can easily wears make-up and jewellery during the competition.

On the stage, her prize in the hands, she confessed that after competing the body recuperates much faster than the psyche. She added she thought she had better changes to win than last year. She was extremely happy and was doubly content as she also received a prize with her relay team. The four ladies were elected best team of the year after their achievement for the 4×100 meters relay at the European Championships in Bydgoszcz.
