Art on Ice celebrates its 25th anniversary with passion and class

The famous ice gala spectacle Art on Ice started its 25th anniversary last night at the Hallenstadion in Zurich.  The founders Reto Caviezel and Oliver Horner had invited a group of well-known Swiss and international stars and best ice figure skaters.

Rap singer Bligg, with 7 Swiss Music Awards, opened the show with his mega hit “Us Mänsch” in duo with Marc Sway. He brought the crowd on fire, like the Romand, Bastian Baker who became known with his hit “Lucky”.Now 28 and almost 10 years after his beginning at Montreux Jazz Festival, Baker still moved the crowds with his pop songs. Last night he surprised everyone when he performed part of a song while ice-skating. The comedian and actor Marco Rima, made people laugh with his act. He celebrates this year his 40th anniversary with his new show „no problem“.

The international star of the evening was the soul singer Aloe Blaac. The american from California sung his beloved hits ” I need a dollar” and ” Wake me up” and new songs of his newest album. Another soul artist was Rebecca Fergusson, who won the X Factor 2010.

The beautiful Alexia Paganini, 3 times Swiss Champion, made an incredible performance last night. The French figure skater,Kevin Aymoz, 3 times French Champion, reminded us a bit of Florent Amadio. American Philip Warren gave us the chills with all of his spins and jumps just like the 2019 couple figure skaters World Champion Vanessa James & Morgan Cipres.

The Word Champion from Russia Victoria Sinitsina & Nikita Katsalapo were magical on the ice just like the ex Olmpic Winner in Stochi, Tatiana and Maxim Trankov. The couple, who came numerous times to Art on Ice, retired from the competition in 2014.

The 13 years old Kimmy Repond, 3 times Swiss Champion, was also on the ice from time to time. There were magnificent aerial acts, a tribute to Donna Summers, Steeve Lee from Gotthard and the Bee Gees and a moving Hallelujah.

The show ended with a standing ovation. It continues in Zurich until the 9th. Then it goes on to Lausanne (11th of February),Basel (13-14th of February) to end in Davos (15-16th of February). Don´t miss this amazing show!
