Why not going to the circus, to a Christmas Parade, a Gospel concert or a
musical?
It is again a busy time of the year with so many enjoyable activities to do in Zurich. There are more than you will be able to do, but I selected the ones which look the most interesting.
My list:
Christmas markets: from November 17th to Dec 31st – Four markets. with the first one opening in the city center. There is a new one this year on the Sechseläuten Platz, Bellevue– The train station market on November 24th.
Salto Natale: from November 17th to January 1st – Circus Knie in Zurich Kloten
Conelli: Première on November 18th – Christmas circus with gala dinners – Will last until January 2d, 2012 – Located on the Bauschänzli insel, Bürkliplatz
Swiss Christmas: Première on November 18th – A music, acrobatic
show with Christmas stories to last until December 31st – Location: Oerlikon

Räbeliechtli Parade: November 19th at 6:00 p.m. Cutting starts at
3:30 p.m in the Schulhausstrasse 22. Parade from last 45 minutes – Location

Lighting of Lucy (city lights): November 24th at 6:00 p.m. with shopping night
until 10 p.m. – Bahnofstrasse
Singing Tree : November 24th to December 23rd – Christmas carols –
Location: Werdmühleplatz downtown
Crédit Suisse Tree: in November before the Christmas Parade – In
front of the bank headquarters on Paradeplatz
Samichlaus Parade: November 28th at 5:00 p.m. – Bahnofstrasse
Swinging Comedy Christmas: November 29th to December 31st – Comedy
and Christmas songs in Maag Halle in Zurich
Jelmoli Märlitram: from November 30th to December 23rd – Kids from
age 4 can travel in the Jelmoli tram and listen to Christmas stories. – Buy tickets
in Jelmoli.
Sprüngli and Fridoline: December at 3d from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m –
Paradeplatz in front of Sprüngli
Live on Ice: From December 4th to January 2d – Ice Skating with music – Celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2011 – Location: near the Landesmuseum near the main train station.
Prinzessin Lillifee: December 8th – Musical at the Kongresshaus at 2:00 p.m. & 5:30 p.m.
The Harlem Gospel Singing: December 11th & 12th – Kongresshaus
Circus Stey: from December 17th to December 30th – Sponsored by
Coop.
Friedenlicht (Light for Peace) : December 18th – Bürkliplatz at
4:00 p.m. – It celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
Lichterschwimmen (Schwimming lights): December 22d – Limmat – go
admire the 800 lighted boats on the river.
New Year Firework: December 31st – Bükliplatz – Don’t miss it.
