Would you like to find out the secret of making a chocolate dress? Would you like to know how it works backstage at a chocolate fair?
The Swiss candy shop and chocolateria, Suteria, founded in 1915, is at the Salon du Chocolat in Zurich this weekend. The team of Maîtres chocolatier with fashion designer Cornelia Müller for Peter Müller are there to answer questions. This year they are not only participating at their first chocolate fair, but they are part of the fashion show as well.
It was a complete surprise to us when someone from Peter Müller contacted us said to me the director of Suteria, Michael Brüderli. We are happy to be here so people can get to know our company, he continued. The collaboration between Peter Müller and Suteria went really well, with only a few meetings and phone calls.
Suteria’s model is a man, half Swiss/half Filipino. We met with Chris and all of the team on Thursday before the Avant Première, while he was putting on the dress. He looked like a Samurai, with a tiger face on the stomach, some armory on the shoulders and a knife on his head.
The dress, which weights about 5kg and took about 50 hours to make (without the design), was finished last Friday by Ariane Wirth and her team. Ariane studied in Fribourg and has been a Maitre Chocolatier for five years. She loves her job.
The dress was kept in a room at a temperature of 20C. It will be exposed in the shop window at Suteria in Solothurn.
Don’t forget to try Suteria’s chocolates, especially its most sold product, the champagne truffle!
