The Iranian Film Festival in Zurich (IFFZ) presents this year 17 short films in addition to the 15 feature and 10 animation films.

THE VISIT
After six months, Elaheh is finally allowed to visit her husband, who is a political prisoner. Elaheh and her little daughter Tara have one single day to prepare for this important meeting.
Azadeh Moussavi was born in 1980 in Tehran. She has a BA in directing from the Cinema & Theatre Faculty of the Tehran University of Arts. She started working as the Assistant Director and Script Advisor in a short, feature, fiction and documentary films, and has also directed two short fiction and one short documentary film. Her mid-length documentary From Iran, A Separation was shown at different festivals around the world and received awards. Finding Farideh is her first feature documentary film.
AYDIN
Aydin is going to play outside of the home, but his mother prevents him from going out because of air pollution.
Mirabbas Khosravinezhad, (born 11 September 1977 in Khorramabad, Iran) is an Iranian Director and Scriptwriter. After graduating in Mechanical Engineering from University in 2000, he made his first short narrative film entitled «Khorram». He has directed eight independent short narrative films.
Mahmoud is a very short man (one meter tall). He wishes he could play a two meter (contrabass) instrument but neither reaches his hand nor reaches his height. He dies from a lot of grief and sadness, and his ghost went into the contrabass now he is self-instrument and he can play it.
Mohsen Mehri Darouei was born in 1991. He is a filmmaking student and he has been working in the field of filmmaking for three years. Mortazavi made as well Sluggish Life (2018), Musician (2020) Price of Water (2021).
WHITE WINGED HORSE
The figure of a white-winged horse has haunted Taha since childhood. Many years ago he had begged his sweetheart to escape their war-torn town together. But she chose to stay behind, for she promised her heart to the one who appeared to her as a white-winged horse. Now Taha returns with big hopes that he can win her heart. Alas, amnesia reigns supreme in his old hometown. Hardly a soul still believes in the power of poetry and magic.
Mahyar Mandegar born in Tehran, Iran in 1996, he studied at the Tehran University of Art and began his career editing short films such as Staircase, which was part of the official selection for the 2018 Venice International Film Festival. As a filmmaker he has made short films that have screened at festivals including the Berlinale, Camerimage, Tirana and etc. Also, he has participated in an exchange program with the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf where he made the documentary Margarina Bailarina.
DRIVING LESSONS
According to the laws of Iran, Bahareh must have her traditional, chauvinistic husband accompany her to driving lessons so she and her instructor will not be alone.
Marziyeh Riahi is editor-in-chief of Short Film News, Asia’s first website specializing in short films and documentaries. She is a member of The Network For Promotion of Asian & Asia Pacific Cinema (NETPAC). She graduated in Cinema at the University of Applied Science and Technology in Tehran and graduated in film directing at the Iranian Youth Cinema Society (IYCS). «Driving Lessons» is her first short film.
