Italian soprano Laura Ansaldi reached a career milestone this summer with a dazzling performance at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. Appearing at Sound Espressivo’s Laureate Gala on June 28, Ansaldi enchanted the New York audience with a program that displayed both her technical brilliance and rich emotional intensity.

For the occasion, Ansaldi selected a program highlighting the full spectrum of her creativity. She opened with Handel’s challenging “Da tempeste” from Giulio Cesare, a demanding coloratura piece requiring extraordinary precision and stamina. Later, she offered a lyrical contrast with Puccini’s beloved “Vissi d’arte” from Tosca, filling the hall with melodic power and heartfelt expression. “I want the audience to be transported, to soak into a new atmosphere, and to go home feeling better and empowered,” Ansaldi shared.
Behind the scenes, collaboration played a crucial role in the evening’s success. Conductor Giacomo Franci led the 42-member New York Chamber Players Orchestra, praising Ansaldi’s voice — an accolade she described as especially meaningful. “Maestro Franci is truly one of the best maestros I have worked with so far,” she said. “The musicians were professional and kind from the very first moment, making rehearsals seamless and inspiring.”

Performing at Carnegie Hall — one of the world’s most prestigious music venues — marked a personal and professional breakthrough. “Carnegie Hall isn’t just a venue — it’s a symbol of excellence and a dream for every musician,” she reflected. Having recently received the Platinum Medal from France’s Arts-Sciences-Lettres Academy in Paris, Ansaldi described Carnegie as one of the “best experiences of a lifetime,” following last year’s celebrated achievement.
On the heels of her New York triumph, Ansaldi is on her way to Budapest for the 7th MiraTone Festival, where she also performed last year. She is looking forward to the rest of 2025, with other exciting projects on the horizon that promise to further showcase her versatility and creative expression.
