“It is a great life”
Liam Neeson was recently interviewed at the Zurich Film Festival by the film reporter and actor Ben Lyons.
Who has not heard of the Irish actor Liam Neeson? Since his role as Oskar Schindler in the “Schindler’s list” (1993), the Oscar nominee does not need anymore introduction.
And the 62 years old man has not lost his charm over the years! Wearing a light grey suit, which suited him nicely, he felt very secure, calm and was smiling the entire time. No doubt the man with deep blue eyes left a positive impression on the crowd that day!
For over 20 minutes he explained how his life has been as an actor. He loves acting and going back and forth between comedies and dramas. He will continue doing action films until his knees start hurting, he said joyfully.
He finds action films fun to do just like his newest film “A Walk Among The Tombstones”, which he came to present at the Zurich festival. He received the script of the thriller 7 months before the shooting started. He recognized it was a difficult film to make, but the actors kept on joking a lot on the set. “Everyone was a mentor to each other,” he added.
In the film he plays with the young actor Brian Bradley, known as the rapper Astro. Neeson said he loves him and described him as an honest and simple kid. Astro was one of the finalists of the first season of X Factor.
When asked how his sweet 16 were, Neeson mentioned it was during the civil war in Ireland. The actor was raised in Belfast in a very stable working class family, he proudly said. Boxing and going school were the important things in his life.
Does he like his life as an actor? “It is a great life,” he responded with no hesitation. And he is still amazed at how much money one can make as an actor!
Other amazing performances of Liam Neeson are in the films “Nell” (1994),”Michael Collins” (1996), “Les Misérables” (1998), “Star Wars Episode” (1999),”Kinsey” (2004) and “Third Person” (2013).
