If you are lucky to be in Cannes for the Film Festival this week, you probably will take a walk on this sandy beach on the Bay.
Which movie will win the Palme d’Or of the 64th Film Festival? Will it be the American film “The Tree of Life” with Sean Penn and Brad Pitt or maybe the French movie “The Artist” with the well-known Jean Dujardin?
The Festival of Cannes opened on May 11th with the out of competition film “Midnight in Paris” from Woody Allen and will end on Sunday May 22d.
The hightlights this week were the movies: “The Pirates of the Caribbean” with Johnny Depp and “Kung Fu Panda 2” with Dustin Hoffmann, Angelina Jolie and Jack Black.
For the first time this year, the Festival of Cannes innovated by inviting a guest of honor. Egypt was chosen and the Egyptian film culture is honored with 10 short films. The famous film director, Youssef Chahine (Shahin) who passed away in 2008 in Cairo, was also remembered during the festival. His last movie was film in 2007.
