Parente Fireworks tonight July 5th at 10:30 p.m in Zurich
At 10:30 p.m. tonight 60,000 kg of explosives will be fired over the lake of Zurich and heard along 9km via loud speakers. One hour before the boats’ departure to their final destination between the Mythenquai and Bad Utoquai, I met at the Wollishofen wharf with Antonio Parente, the creative director of Parente Fireworks.

For the last week nine technicians worked with great care to prepare the five boats, where the black powder, mortars, shells, comets, lights and many firework devices are loaded.
From the short tubes will be fired one shot, but multiple shots will be fired from the long blue tubes.
Comets on boats for the Züri Fäscht
While some shells will burn directly on the ground, others will explode in the air to 100 meters. The boats may be of slightly different sizes but they have the same quantity of explosives on board. Every 90 meters there will be one boat with 3 floaters in between.
The boats will be 300 meters away from the crowd, a necessary distance to keep every viewer safe tonight, says Antonio Parente.

While it is possible that 1% of the shots don’t fire, it won’t be something the crowd will notice, continues Antonio. 5000 shots will be fired during the 30 minutes show. Parente Fireworks has a firing system, which reduces such firing problems.
As well they invented a special program timed with the soundtrack. As soon as Antonio will press the soundtrack button, everything will start on its own and end automaticly at 11:00 p.m.
