Tennis Champion Roger Federer, who just won his 80th ATP tournament in Cincinnati, has been busy this summer. After Roland Garros and Wimbledon he found time in the middle of July to inaugurate the new Lindt shop, the Swiss Chocolate Heaven.
The shop is located above Interlaken at the Jungfraujoch “Top of Europe” at 3,454 meters above sea level. There the visitors can not only buy the delicious Lindt chocolates but see how the chocolates are made.
It is a collaboration with the the Jungfrau Railway, the largest mountain railway company in Switzerland. Last year over 800,000 visitors came to the Jungfraujoch.
Both Ernst Tanner, the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Lindt & Sprüngli, and Urs Kessler, CEO of the Jungfrau Railway believe that the Swiss Chocolate Heaven will be a great bonus for the tourists.
The day of the opening, the Lindt ambassador, Roger Federer, played an exhibition tennis match with American ski racer Lindsey Vonn on the Aletsch Glacier.
Roger Federer said in the Lindt press release that he “never cease to be amazed by the great ideas Lindt comes up with. Today on the Jungfraujoch was a real highlight for me.”
