September 11th, 2011: the world remembers

New York firetruck driving on Broadway

Today I remember 9/11 with a picture of a New York fire truck from Engine 54.

Many policemen and firefighters died to save others on the tragic day of September 11th, 2001.  Engine 54 was the most severely hurt during the terrorist attack.  It lost 15 of their men.

President Obama paid a visit to the station in May this year. It is nicknamed “Pride of Manhattan” and is located between 48th & 8th Avenue near the theater district on Broadway.
