The choice is yours – Overview of Social Networks – LinkedIn

We continue our overview of social networks. Today in the spotlight is LinkedIn, which reigns as the world’s largest professional online platform.

General information

LinkedIn is business and employment-oriented online service that operates via websites and mobile apps. Over the years it developed into a very popular social network, and it still remains one of the most reputable platforms for companies and private entrepreneurs.

Registration on LinkedIn is free of charge, but there are some additional features, which you can access by upgrading your account for a fee. LinkedIn allows both workers and employers to create profiles and “connect” with each other for communication.

Most of the company’s revenue comes from selling access to information about its members to recruiters and sales professionals. Since December 2016 LinkedIn belongs to Microsoft.
