According to a police statement in Egypt today, two American tourists have been kidnapped in Egypt in the St Catherine Protectorate Park in the Sinai, not very far from the Israeli and Jordan border.
The two women were heading back to the beach resort of Sharm el Sheikh on the Red sea after visiting the monastery, where Moise is known to have received the 10 Commandments from God.
I am thinking of the two women and hope they will soon be found.
I know the place quite well having been there last year in July 2011 and in March 2010 to climb on Mt. Sinai.
With the death last week of a French tourist downtown Sharm el Sheikh, it surely will not help the tourism in Egypt during the busy season and just one year after the Egyptian Revolution.
I had been thinking to fly to Sharm el Sheikh end of April but may have to reconsider. It used to be a safe place to go on vacation, especially if staying within your beach resort.
