The Wimbledon championships start today! (England)

If you are in London during the 125th tennis championships of Wimbledon, it is worth going to. This year the first of the 660 matches will start on June 20th and end on July 3rd.

Tickets for the tournament are obtained either through a public ballot or by queuing directly. Everyone can apply to the public ballot but it is too late for 2011. However if you are patient, go there early and don’t mind queuing about 1 h30 you may get in. If you arrive at 10:00 a.m. the first week, you have pretty good chances. I did this one year for a Friday and Sunday during the first week. After 1:00 p.m they stopped letting people go in.

Wimbledon is located 7 miles from the center of London and is easily reachable per train.
