Valentine Day with Vollenweider sweets

Valentine Day is approaching and maybe you would like to surprise your loved ones with some special sweets. Don’t look further! If you are in the Zurich or Winterthur area, the confiserie Vollenweider has something for you, no matter if you prefer chocolates, macarons, cupcakes or just pastries.

The vitrine of their shop window on the Theaterstrasse near the opera house in Zurich is just amazing. When you enter the shop it is like a paradise and for a while you may find it difficult to stop your eyes on a particular thing.

The family entreprise celebrated its 75th anniversary last year. Everything is made by hand. For Valentine Day the maîtres chocolatiers have made dark and milk chocolates bars with the word Love in colourful letters. You can buy a chocolate Eiffel Tower filled with an almond-praliné cream or a chocolate heart-shaped box filled with pralinés and truffes. They also have red and pink hearts in different sizes.

Or what about a few pralinés from their Opera chocolate assortiments like the dark ganache with raspberry, the Romeo & Julia or the amazing nutty praliné, the Cosi Fan Tutte?

If you would rather bring home for the evening some nice pastries, you could choose from a wide variety like the Giraffentorte, an almond biscuit with chocolate chips covered with chocolate glaze or sugar glaze.
