Vivamost’s favorite moments at the Salon du Choocolat
The coolest sweets for kids
What caught our eyes were the marshmallows from Maison Boissier, the milk nutty chocolate with smarties from Läderach, the nougat from the Maison des Délices and the Ragusa & Torino from Camille Bloch.
Most impressive fashion dress and best models
We loved our chat with Barbara Skaro from the town of Rüdi near St Gallen. The 22 years old, who works at a doctor’s office, wore a wonderful wedding dress made by Philippe Andrieu for Les Douceurs de Louise and fashion designers Marie Viloteau & Mary Kruger. Ms. Skaro was voted last year by the Swiss newspaper 20 Minuten as The Best Looking Female from Switzerland.
The visitors could elect their favourite Choco Miss out of the 12 (11 women and 1 man), who walked on the runway during the fashion shows. They chose Christine von Muralt, wearing a yellow dress from Rene Haslinger from the Konditorei Voland and designed by Magdalena Jedrkowiak (M.J Haute Couture). Ms. Von Muralt has now a modelling contract with the agency Biba Model Management.
Our favorite dress was the Japanese dress made by Maitre Chocolatier Laurent Robatel from Villars maitre chocolatier and fashion designers Marie-Hélène Prongué and her students Scheina Louis, Berenice Stempfel from Haute Couture school of Fribourg.
The nicest stands
The display of three stands caught our attention, the Stauffacher bookstore in Bern with its kitschy stand display of cooking books, chocolate novels, bowls, cups and cooking utensils. The second one was the French stand of Sweet Factory Charms. The company sales bracelets, earrings, bracelets and charms you can add to them. The charms are shaped to look like sweets and they are colourful, unique and come in various sizes. The third one but not the last is the stand of Les Gourmandises de Miyuko. Sara Hochuli was already there last year at the Salon du Chocolat with her amazing colourful cake creations and macarons.
Meeting the people
Vivamost enjoyed meeting with the maitres chocolatier, pastry chefs, models wearing the beautiful chocolate dresses, the fashion designers and the organizers of the Salon du Chocolat. We particularly loved seeing Sara Hochuli work backstage, getting the models ready with the wigs, talking to the Sales Director for Beschle, Roger Greiner, the CEO for Suteria Chocolata AG, Michael Brüderli, and of course Sylvie Douce, the founder with François Jeantet of the Salon du Chocolat.
