If you have never experienced the fall in the vineyards, it is definitely something to do at least once.

I spent two days admiring the French vineyards around Riquewihr, Kintzheim and Eguisheim in Alsace. The wine growers were finishing the harvest and one could see them with tractors bringing the grapes to the wineries for pressing or cleaning their machines and containers. Everywhere on the streets, one could smell the fresh pressed grapes and observe the remaining grapes drying in tractors.

When the sun sets late in the afternoon, it is the most beautiful panorama you can imagine. The green and yellow colors of the vineyards were so vivid, the most perfect purple/green grapes hanging here and there, the colorful carpet of fallen leaves and the orange, yellow colors in the forest in the background, made it all worthwhile.
