This beautiful light rosé is the product of a very unique partnership between two childhood friends. Nadia is a jewellery designer and Jordi is at the helm of Domaines Auriol. Their collaboration goes much further than simply creating a new visual universe for the wine, Nadia and her sister Nancy, the founders and creators of Nach were also involved in defining the profile of the wine which is light, aromatic and refreshing with a brilliant salmon-pink hue. A blend of Cinsault and Grenache Gris from the Terrasses de l’Orbieu, has intense candied strawberry, crunchy cherry, watermelon and white peach aromas, light body and crisp refreshing acidity and at only 10% alcohol you can drink it by the pool guilt-free!

Domaine Jas D’Esclans is situated in the valley of Esclans in Provence and it is one of the 14 domains awarded Cru Classe status for this area. Their wines certified organic. A true Provencal rosé made from Grenache (50%), Syrah (5%), Cinsault (15%) , Mourvèdre (15%) and Tibouren (15%). The grapes are harvested very early in the morning when the temperatures are still low to keep the grapes from oxidising and retain their fruitiness and freshness. Short maceration for a few hours in concrete tanks at low temperatures gives this wine a pale salmon colour and aromas of candied strawberry, banana, apricot, wild raspberry, cherry and white peach. The palate is balanced with medium acidity and body and a nice finish of candied fruit.

La Londe is a tiny sub appellation of Cotes de Provence and has been recognised for its beautiful rosés. Chateau des Bourmettes is a family owned winery with a long history and many distinctions in international competitions. Grenache is the main player in this cuvée while Cinsault brings finesse and freshness to the blend. The harvest is mainly done at night, in order to preserve aromatics and freshness. Lower temperatures safeguard grapes against oxidation thus reducing doses of sulphites. The wine is kept on its lees in concrete eggs, developing its structure and aroma. Medium pink colour with salmon hues. Pronounced fruity, strawberry, cherry, watermelon and dried herbs but also savoury notes that complement each other. Medium acidity and full body. A “meatier”, gastronomic rosé with a punch that will easily hold its place in a summer bbq.

La Colombe is a family owned winery in Fechy on the shores of Lake Geneva. Four generations of winegrowers and winemakers who respect the soil and its natural rhythms. The majority of their wines are certified biodynamic. A fruity rosé made with care from Pinot Noir. Short maceration and cold fermentation give a wine full of fresh red fruit aromas.

Aestatis 2017 Cedric Delacquis, Geneva

Cedric, a young winemaker from Geneva makes some of the most interesting biodynamic wines I have tried from this area.  His rosé, Aestatis is a blend of Gamaret and Syrah made by direct pressing a wonderfully aromatic wine with a deep purplish pink colour. Somewhat unconventionally, Cedric is ageing it in concrete egg shaped tanks on its lees for a few months. Unfiltered and unfined with just a tiny addition of sulphur it is balanced yet powerful and you can easily age it for 2 to 5 years!
