What you need:
6.5 oz (185 g) of baking chocolate (55% cacao)
3 eggs
4.9 oz (140 g) of butter
1.4 oz (40 g) of flour
4.9 oz (140 g) of sugar
3 tablespoons of water
powdered sugar to decorate
backing paper
11 x 11 inches (28 x 28 cm) star mould
How to make it:
1. Preheat oven to 300 F (150 C).
2. If your butter is not soft enough, melt it in microwave and mix it with the sugar.
3. Add the eggs and the flour, one time an egg, one time a bit of flour.
4. Microwave your chocolate with 3 tablespoons of water or you can do a bain-marie.
5. Add to the flour and butter mixture.
6. Take your mould and butter it or use some baking paper. Both work well. This time I did it without paper.
7. Place the mixture into the mould.
8. Bake 40 minutes. Don’t overcook. If no chocolate remains on the knife when testing, it is too cooked.
8. Remove from mould only when it has cooled down.
9. Sprinkle the top with powdered sugar.
You can use the same recipie all year long with other shapes, like a heart for Valentine Day. You can also make mini cake for your children and decorate with a frosting and smarties for example.
Enjoy with vanilla ice cream!
