Since my son has been born, I have been looking for new exciting activities for the weekends. I have found many playgrounds by accident. Here are the ones where he had the most fun:
Felsenegg:
There is a nice playground for children (at least 18 months) behind the panorama restaurant of Felsenegg. It is located on Felsenegg 1 in Felsenegg, reachable via cable car in Aldiswil or by foot via the Buchenegg Pass.
GZ Enge, Zurich called QuartierTreff:
Gablerstrasse 20 near Museum Rietberg cafeteria
Take Tram 7, 13 or Bus 33. Opened Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
It is really big, clean and in the Summer they even organize camps.
Höngg, in front of the restaurant Turbinenhaus:
Breitensteinstrasse, near the Limmat.
There is a nice closed playground, perfect for parents eating at the Turbinenhaus.
Höngg, Badi:
Located near the Werdinsel: there is a playground just next to the Limmat, and a large place for the children to play in the water. Also you there is a café where you can relax and eat.
Langenberg Wildpark:
The park was recently renovated and now offers two playgrounds for children of all ages.
Albistrasse 4, Langnau am Albis

Parking: 5 CHF for 24 hours
Migros Park/ Park im Gruene in Thalwil – Rüschlikon:
Not only the park is free but it has everything you can think for kids of all ages. Check their website for the Spring and Summer program.
Opened daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from May – August
Mt Etzel/Kulm:
Fantastic playground in front of the self service cafeteria of the Berggasthaus in Feusisberg. You need to walk up to the top.

Pfäffikersee Badi in Auslikon:
I discovered this wonderful big playground during a hike to the Juckermarkt Farm. There are many slides, swings and other games for the children. Plus they can play at the lake and in the sand.
Rapperswil:
Behind the castle of Rapperswil, passed the Promenade, follow the Bühlerallee and you will see near the water on Giessi a grassy area, an amazing slide and playground.
Schmiede Wiedikon, Zurich:
Newly renovated, the playground on the Steinstrasse, has a boat, swings and tables. It is surrounded by a large grassy area.
GZ Wipkingen on the Limmat:
Breitenstrasse 19a, Zurich
It is easily reachable from Zurich following the river.
The playground is big for children of all ages and there is petting zoo and a café.
Zurich Zoo:
The Zurich Zoo has 3 different playgrounds, one near the entrance, one next to the Elephants and a pick-nick area and one near the Masoala and pick-nick areas. All tend to get full really quickly on sunny days.
