From 30 January to 2 February 2020, visitors of FESPO Zurich can once more draw inspiration for their next trip. Those responsible for the travel platform have pulled off a real coup: on the occasion of its thirtieth anniversary, special insights into the Arab world will be provided for the first time with Ras Al Khaimah as a guest country.
The most northern of the seven United Arab Emirates has something to offer for every taste – whether heavenly beaches, unforgettable moments, action in and on the water, historical sites or the longest zip line in the world. “The Emirate will be presented to the FESPO audience as a hidden jewel of the Arab world,” says Exhibition Director Stephan Amstad. “We are particularly pleased that we have once again succeeded in putting the spotlight on a guest country that until now has still been spared from mass tourism.” Amstad has even more reason to be happy.
FESPO is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this year – with a new brand identity as well as new destinations. “It fills me with pride that for 30 years we have been able to survive and even grow in the highly competitive exhibition industry,” says the FESPO Exhibition Director, adding that “no fewer than 60 new exhibitors and many new destinations will present their offers this year at Switzerland’s largest travel agency”.
A total of around 600 exhibitors will gather at FESPO under the motto “World of Travel” to pass on their passion and expertise to visitors in personal discussions. Destinations such as Japan, Cuba, Armenia, Bahrain and Slovenia will participate for the first time this year.
“A further new feature: in FESPO hall 1, we have set up the TravelBistro for our visitors. This is a place where they can exchange travel experiences in a relaxed setting – and where travel professionals can reveal the odd insider tip. The culinary arts are of course not neglected either.” FESPO guests can also pick up ideas for their next trip during the approximately 530 lectures and presentations. “There will certainly be no shortage of inspiration,” says Stephan Amstad.
Golfmesse is fully booked In recent years, Golfmesse, which takes place parallel to FESPO in hall 5, has established itself as one of the most important Swiss meeting places for golf. Both newcomers and professionals come together here. The fact that golf is becoming increasingly popular with the people of Switzerland is underlined by the fact that the exhibition stands have already been fully booked since December.
“We are delighted that we will be able to welcome around 160 exhibitors on site. We would particularly like to highlight the massive increase in hardware,” says Roland Caprez, Exhibition Director of Golfmesse Zurich. After an absence of eight years, the ASGI public golf organisation will also be in attendance this year. The Swiss Association of Independent Golfers is committed to enabling all interested parties to play golf at an affordable price – without having to join a golf club.
The Golfhotel Fahrenbach in Tröstau, Germany, enjoys a unique location in the middle of the course. The resort will be represented as an exhibitor at Golfmesse for the first time. Guests at the hotel can take advantage of the immediate proximity to the various golf courses in Bavaria and Bohemia. The hotel also offers a Bavarian-Bohemian golf safari, where guests can try out the various golf courses in the surrounding area.
