December 3, 2010 – Photo of the week

Last Sunday in Zurich there was the Santa Claus Parade. Every year on the first Sunday of Advent, St. Nicholas and Santa Claus walk along the main street in town, the Bahnhofstrasse.

This time when the Parade was over, all the Santas, St. Nicholas and Schmutzlis came together on the square of the weekly market. There was a speech by both St. Nicholas and Santa. A young orchestra played Christmas songs and later a dixiband played popular Santa’s songs. Despite the cold weather, it was really nice to see so many men wearing colorful red robes and white beards.
