Jamie Cullum Come Back at the Salle Pleyel

On the 22nd of September Jamie Cullum made his big comeback. Not the usual comeback like after retiring or going on hiatus, but after one and a half years since a pandemic shut everything down. One and a half years since his Taller tour came to an abrupt halt.

When Jamie and his extended band came on stage at Salle Pleyel in Paris the excitement and joy was palatable.  So after all this time, the tour is back, live music is back, and boy were we lucky to be there.

As the writer of such gems as
‘Twenty Something’
‘You and me are Gone’
‘When I get Famous’
‘and Age of Anxiety’, Jamie is also a master of interpreting the great jazz standards such as, ‘What a Difference a Day Made’ and ‘I get a Kick out of You’. He played all of these and more and threw in an original Christmas song for good measure. And what a bang up performance of ‘Hang your Lights’ it was.

From the jumping up and down to ‘Mixtape’ to the quiet emotional ‘Grand Torino’ encore, we were sent home with beautiful memories to cherish.
