No, this is not a picture of the Zurich firework but of Venice!
Last weekend when we arrived in Venice we were told there would be a firework in town around 11:30 p.m.
We hesitated a second and then opted to stay in town to watch the display of firework. It was near the Canal Grande in St. Marco. It was the most spectacular I have ever seen: about 35 minutes of show, ending well after midnight with the ringing of the St. Marco Basilica’s bells.
What was happening in Venice last weekend?
Venetians celebrated the festival of Redentore to remember the deads of a plague in the 16th century. It is every year on the third weekend of July. I highly recommend it.
