We had a 3 course menu: a consommé with saffron royale trout, followed by a delicious veal scallion on pommery sauce with napkin dumplings and ending with some Salzburg pancakes (Kaiserschmarrn) with vanilla shake. Vegetarians had an aubergine schnitzel with lingonberry foam with glazed beans instead of the veal scallion.

The members of the Orchestra Academy played one of the most known compositions of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart´s the little night music. Mozart (1756-1791) composed the kleine Nachtmusik in 1787. His serenade No. 13 for strings in G major, K. 525 in four mouvements was published about 40 years after the composer´s death.

Mireia Castro Real (violine), Katarzyna Seremak (violine), Evgeniya Peschanskaya (viola) and Noémie Akamatsu (violoncello) played before the appetizer Divertimento F-Dur KV 138, then before the main course the little night music KV 525 and finally before the dessert Paul Hindemith string quartet No 3. An Evening by the Source of Danube Intermezzo for 2 trumpets and George Gershwin – Lullaby for string quartet.

The members of the orchestra are very international with musicians playing for us from Spain, Poland, Russia, Luxembourg and France. The Zurich Opera House has an orchestra academy since 1997 and forme its musicians in two years.

We had a pleasant evening at the Belcanto with great entertainment and food.
