I am not Christian but me and my hero both came from the same land and I am mostly a candidate to die the same way he died. My hero was born Palestinian. He was Jewish. His name is Jesus. One might wonder why Jesus could be one of the heroes for a Muslim guy?
Not only because we are both Palestinian. Not only because I respect all religions. Not only due to the fact I would never fight a man because of his religion but because he has occupied my land and my simple human rights and I see myself a full human. I would fight any occupier even if these occupiers were Muslims or Hindis because occupation is where every human being should fight.
Then why Jesus could be a hero? Because Jesus is a freedom fighter. Because Jesus once said, “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute,” (Psalm 82:3).”
This is what justice is. Justice is to stand for all. To give people equal rights without caring about what colour they are. what power they have. What beliefs they hold. In this world, justice can be manipulated under many policies and items yet my hero knows that justice should be for all not for some.
“Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, and please the widow’s cause,” (Isaiah 1:17).”
Why Jesus could be a hero? For me Jesus was a man who asked for love, justice and change. For me he was a man who die for our rights before our sins. I always ask why would the Romans put such a loving guy to death? Why was his crime?
Why Jesus could be a hero? Whether you think of him as god, son of god, prophet or don’t believe in him at all, he will always be that middle eastern man who asked for love, justice, care and change. That’s why my hero is Jesus, a Jewish Palestinian.
