Career & Entrepreneurship

One Woman One Voice

She sits poised, very confident for one so young in her mid-twenties. There is a strength, a self -assuredness, a passion about preserving nature and empowering people to follow in her footsteps.
I had first met Khulan Berger when she was still a Bachelor student. Now that Khulan is Regional Director Romandie for MYBLUEPLANET, with her office in Business School Lausanne (BSL), where I work as Head of Careers and Industry Relations, our paths continue to cross. With the company’s active expansion into the Suisse Romande region, Khulan has, and is still, taking time to truly understand the needs of its local stakeholders so that her team may adapt their approach for the best possible engagement and impact.

Khulan Berger, Regional Director Romandie for MYBLUEPLANET

Living between multinational parallels, Mongolia and Singapore, and now integrated into Switzerland, has enriched Khulan and given her an open and curious mindset. It has molded her entrepreneurial spirit and instilled in her a concrete set of moral values such as compassion and resilience. Educated in Electrical Computer Engineering and Business Management, and experienced in Project Management, Khulan yearns for her background to serve as a tool for helping others do good in our society. These deeply ingrained values have guided Khulan towards MYBLUEPLANET, an organization which has a mission to encourage people in Switzerland to lead their lives in a climate-friendly way, using MYBLUEPLANET’s innovative solutions.

MYBLUEPLANET’s community is at the core of its foundation, a clear vision ahead of it: ‘Active together for a climate friendly tomorrow’. Education is of key importance. The company reaches out to young children, provides tools to hotels, and has partners such as Loterie Romande as its fund raisers. A non-profit organization, its objective is to teach and provide knowledge. Membership fees range from 10 CHF monthly (or 120 CHF annually) for individuals to 120 CHF monthly for companies (1200 CHF annually) for companies. For those who sign up before May 9th, there is an opportunity to win a goodie bag from MYLUEPLANET’s partners, an invitation to one community day and the 2024 New Year’s Event as well as an invitation and voting rights at their General Meeting.

Living in this world – this beautiful, interconnected, and complex system, has given Khulan a genuine curiosity and interest in understanding it and ensuring its sustainable continuity. A lifelong learner from a young age, Khulan seeks to pass on this quest for learning on to others. She is driven to implement concrete sustainable efforts for balance and create impact with her dynamic team – step by step. Khulan has a very positive and calm nature, yet her days are not without challenges. Her greatest secret for overcoming her many tribulations is observing, listening, and connecting the dots.
She also ensures that she is fit physically and mentally to face these tribulations.

The young lady’s days revolve around bringing people together for a just cause. From her small cozy village in Fribourg, Khulan usually makes her way to work either in her Lausanne office, based in Business School Lausanne, or in Winterthur, depending on her agenda.

She is greeted by a community of aspiring business students and staff, which is always motivating.
Her team kick starts the day with a morning call to connect and align with everyone involved in different projects across Switzerland. The group shares, inspires one another and addresses challenges together. In the afternoon, the team meets with their partners either online or in-person to co-work on their upcoming projects or events. Close collaboration and communication are key. The result of this close collaboration is an array of initiatives.

Khulan’s determination, positivity, and drive is catching. It propels me and others to work together and contribute towards a more sustainable future for generations to come.

MYBLUEPLANET’s latest big project is Earth Day 2023. MYBLUEPLANET warmly welcomes you to join them in commemorating Earth Day 2023 on April 26 at Av. Bergières 10, 1004 Lausanne. Brought to you in close collaboration with ImpactHub Lausanne, The Climate Reality Project Europe, and Academic Citizen’s Assembly.

This year, the focus for this day is ‘Energy’. Your journey will commence with a deepening or brushing up of your knowledge on the topic. Next, the fun part begins with open-discussions to formulate solutions for collective decision-making using the tool developed by our trusted expert Sascha Nick. Lastly, MYBLUEPLANET will open the space up to apéro (with natural wine) and networking.
MYBLUEPLANET looks forward to discussing, thinking and learning all together.
