We tried the brasserie of Dieter Meier, an Argentinian restaurant, right in the downtown of Zurich on Paradeplatz. We sat down on comfortable chairs in the garden. We were greeted by a friendly and caring waiter. We opted right away for a glass of 2016 “Puro” Corte D`Oro, a fruity Argentinian wine from Mendoza. This wine is produced in the domain of Dieter Meier named Ojo de Agua.
While we waited for our lemongrass soup with coriander came some delicious crusty bread with butter and a plate of dried ham from the Grison. We opted for the 120 gr Ladies cut with a side of potato gratin with leeks and a black pepper sauce. The filet was cooked perfectly.
The specialty of the house is the Café de Paris, a 180 gr Entrecote au gratin served with pommes allumettes.
For dessert we couldn´t resist and tried a crème brulée partly covered up with a scoop of strawberry sorbet with mint.
We can recommend highly this wonderful restaurant.
