Beauty isn´t a size – Tips on what to wear

If you missed Part I click here….

Here are a few tips and pictures, because it’s not about the size you wear, but about how you wear your size.

Embrace the whites

Clean, innocent, timelessly elegant, white brings light on your face and suits everyone. Yet curvier women make two steps backwards if they get approached by white clothing.

Are you worried it makes you even more plump? Believe me, not more than any other colour.

Feel free to choose a completely white outfit, what matters is the cut and your ability to know your shape.

If your legs are nice, wear a pair of tight, white trousers with a loose fit top or a crispy white shirt. If you want a deeper neckline to show off your chest a bit, wear a comfortable wrapped T-shirt, which follows your shape with an A line skirt.

But I’m telling you, don’t be afraid of an airy summer dress either!

Wear white and enjoy the effect!

Somewhere over the rainbow…or rather inside

What’s your favourite colour? The colour that makes you happy whenever you see it and the one you reach for, most of the time in the stores? Tell me it’s not black, please!

There’s nothing wrong with black , I love black too, but plus size fashion doesn’t mean exclusively black or only oversized clothing either. …

Back to colours, if you know your colour type that’s wonderful, if you don’t ()know what a colour type means, I’ll let you know where you can get help (later..), but feel free to choose from the full colour palette of the rainbow.

Put the colour close to your face and, believe me, you’ll notice the one, that suits you, makes you shine and lively and not pale and dull.

Choose that one!

It can be bright pink, pale peach, lively turquoise, mystic teal, pistachio green, exotic coral or deep aubergine… these colours will make you happy, even when just thinking about them.

Cheerfulness is guaranteed!

Forever blue love

Comfortable, sexy, loose, sporty or elegant, to work or for the weekend, the real jolly joker is…

you wonder what? Yes, they’re jeans.

Jeans are always a good idea.

Whether it’s mid blue or dark blue, you can’t go wrong! They both suit plus size shape. However if you’re crazy for light blue, feel free to go for it, but match it with a loose fit shirt or tunic! Leave jeans without back pockets on the shelves, ladies, they’re not for us!

Invest in good quality clothes

I’m going to stick a general, but quite important thought in here.

One of my favourite theories regarding fashion, is the following: We get the real value of a piece of clothing, if we divide the price by the number of occasions we wear them.

It is worth to invest in a good quality piece that has the heart and soul of it’s maker, that makes you happy so many times. If you can, look for the one that can be followed from designing through producing to the completed piece.

If you are not sure what suits you, Adam Brody, who is the only plus size designer in Zürich, can give you some guidance and gear you up with your next favourite clothes. His Boutique and Atelier, in the heart of the city (www.adambrody.ch) are a treasure box, where the soul comes hand in hand with professional skills and craftsmanship.  Where style and quality are up to date, and friendly to all sizes, true to his moto- “style has nothing to do with size”

Self-acceptance is a long journey, but curves are always exciting on the road.

You`re wonderful, love yourself from today, as much as you can, now and forever, so your soul shall love living in you.
