This is the second part of our interview. If you missed Part I please click here.

Why do you choose your medium?

Shiva Guruji Aruneshvar:
I represent SHIVA as a subject in my spray paintings =

expression of art

I use multimedia, make drawings with pens and create light with colors. In a multidimensional image creation with layers of color I create patterns, drawings, many pictures, letters and mantras. I create the pictures with many different techniques like oil, soft pastels mixed with sprays. It is a play of light and a picture of spiritual imagination, on which I focus. It is a perception-based performance of purity of expression and enlightenment.

Why SHIVA?

Shiva Guruji Aruneshvar:
SHIVA is a dancer. Shiva is the creator and Shiva is the giver. I use Shiva as a representative and symbolic image in meditative and dancing postures. A mystical and deep symbolism underlies all his images, with many dimensions of humanity.

My subjects take different forms of Shiva. For example, Shiva as protector, Shiva as creator and perfecter, Shiva in the posture of blessing and giving with many hands. I also paint Shiva in love with Shakti and represent the masculine and feminine principle of being together.

Shiva with mantras of joy and blessing and Shiva Shakti as the source of the original creation and reflection of nature.

From the Himalayas to humanity – I have studied Shiva with the core of my soul and heart. Shiva says, “the soul is a dancer” and I feel that I let my soul dance on canvas, with a variety of colors and performance, to give an image and imagination of Him, the Divine that includes everything, all humanity of global perception.

Who are you and what are the effects of your art on you as a person?

Shiva Guruji Aruneshvar:
I am a seeker and I always seek excellence. My experience in art, in spirituality, is a journey of my self-search.
My drawings gave me poetic rhythm to express myself. My spiritualism paintings give me the experience of revealing the enlightening light within me, and it is a communication of consciousness with creativity. When I create my paintings, I experience bliss. I look at my paintings for hours, and each time they speak to me in a cosmic communication.

My art touches me and gives me inner bliss and joy. When I create, I feel that I am master of the universe, and the creation in art has given me perfection as a creator. As an artist I have sought myself in my soul.
Sometimes I feel that I have created the eternal Creator in my paintings to live in the fullness of creation, and I feel blessed and blissful as an artist to be Creator and to create the Creator of the universe.

What is spiritualism?

Shiva Guruji Aruneshvar:
Spiritualism means…
S= Synchronization
P= perforating/performing
I= Integration
R= Reality
I= Innovation
T= trust, confidence
U= universal
A= Waking up, awakening
L= Love
I= Inspiration
S= Synergy
M= meditative
U= universal
S= Spirituality

I define spiritualism as an expression of humanity. Being in symphony with the reflection of nature, spiritualism is the way of humanity to be and live with acceptance of everything and everyone, including all five elements, inside and outside: SHIVA Space (space), Horizon (earth), Ignition (fire), Water Breath (air). All cosmic interactions of the inner and outer space of humanity can be expressed through spiritualism.

Spiritualism is the space of humanity to be meditative. In the center is the breath, to know the breath to know oneself. For me Shiva is the breath, Prana, of every living being. Just as water has different names in different languages and cultures, so spiritualism has a dimension in different cultural ways and perceptions. But I feel that spiritualism is a multidimensional multi-way, which leads people to the Self, to satisfaction with oneself, to self-knowledge and self-realization.

Spiritualism gives peace and harmony and bliss and the power to give joy to others. Spiritualism is a space of universal joy and personal expression in different languages of culture, art, expression in different ways and forms and functions to make humanity grow with eternal, cosmic connection. For me spiritualism means SHIVA = synergy harmony innovation wide awakening

Who can join this art movement “spiritualism” and why is “spiritualism” an Indian art movement?

Shiva Guruji Aruneshvar:
All creators and artists can join this art movement. I started this art movement as an Indian. Spiritualism began in an initiation in the Himalayas and that is why it is an Indian art movement. Shiva is the first God in India that I have taken for it. From the Himalayas he reaches the whole world where the audience has his own inspirations, faith and trust. It is a transcendent journey on different paths.

Spiritualism will include all “-isms” of human invention, human consciousness and understanding. I chose my natural way to be global, as an Indian, and with the belief that everything is in me and I am in everything. Just as a drop of water in the ocean becomes one with the whole ocean, so I do not belong to one country, I belong to the global world. I am the global creator of spiritualism and I join the global spirituality, which is about accepting all humanity.

Spiritualism is the first awakening call to all humanity. All artists, the creators of art, dancers, actors, filmmakers, fashion designers, craftsmen and creators of all human art creations, all humanity can join spiritualism as a way of expressing art and the heart. It is a journey from the soul to the Self and from the I to We and to Him.
