Om Namah Shivaya – Work as a Meditation

Creating, working, acting – when focusing continuously on the breath, any kind of activity becomes a meditation.

“Work as a meditation, work as worship”, Shiva Guruji, Master from Himalaya, told me, when I expressed my wish to stay in the Himalayas and meditate. Surprisingly after my Himalayan training, Master Shiva Guruji sent me back to my homeland, Switzerland, and later on back into the corporate world to contribute and share the life-changing knowledge, which I had gotten.

Thanks to Shiva Dhyan Yoga Meditation training, I was able to work as a meditation, with full focus, while remaining centred and aligned with myself. No matter what happened around me, I remained calm and focused.

“Givers get: Life is about giving: The more you give, the more you get. Contribute with your talents, time and treasure to humanity,” said Master Shiva Guruji.

Master Shiva Guruji made me enlarge my perspective and understand that life was about contributing and not withdrawing in the Himalayan mountains and meditate. Practicing Shiva Dhyan Yoga meditations in the morning, I could remain aware, cantered, energized, even though I was in the middle of fast-paced work environment.

It was a major inner shift from worry to inner wisdom, from fear to trust in me, from doubt to confidence.

My awareness expanded from the “I – me – mine” approach to WE – the world, humanity and the Universe.

Thanks to increased awareness, I started loving the life I live and living the life I love. I started valuing myself and gifted time on Earth, giving up my ego and instead working for the world with a sense of purpose and contribution.

There is one particular, very powerful Shiva Dhyan Yoga meditation, which empowers to work as a meditation.

Shiva Dhyan Yoga 5 –  Awakening Awareness

  1.  Put the right hand above the left hand (while directing the palms of the hands upwards) at the level of the navel. The inner tips of the thumbs touch each other. The wrists touch each other.
  2. When inhaling (through the nostrils), wave with the fingers upwards like a butterfly and move the hands with ease, directing the palms of the hands upwards, until the heart level.
  3. Exhale through the mouth and move the fingers downwards until they are on a horizontal line. The hands remain on heart level.
  4. Breathe in and move the hands and fingers upwards until the collarbone.
  5. When exhaling through the mouth again go down with the fingers. The hands remain on the level of the throat.
  6. Inhale and move the fingers and hands to the throat level. Put the hand palms on each other and hold the breath.
  7. Chant “OM” while moving the hands (the hand palms remain on each other) upwards, stretching the arms gently until the hands are above the head.
  8. Chant “Namah” while moving the hands in front of the face downwards while bowing down with the head, bowing down to the divine in yourself and in the entire existence.
  9. While chanting “Shivaya” put the head straight. Hold the breath until the hands are repositioned at the navel. Repeat.

This Shiva Dhyan Yoga meditation is very powerful, energizing and awakening.

Om Namah Shivaya means «Let my mind be in control», keeping the thoughts in check.

The literal meaning is “Om (=Omnipresent Magic), Namah (I surrender to existence), Shivaya, which is nature, existence itself.
