6 Steps to Open Your Heart: Shiva Dhyan Yoga Heart Meditation

Opening up our heart paves the way to living our potential fully and happily. How we feel, our overall well-being and happiness in our life largely depend on our ability to open or reopen our heart, release the past, negative emotions and thoughts and focus on the results, our dreams, what we are actually yearning for. Our energy goes into what we think of. If we keep thinking of the outcome, which we actually wish to have, we are putting our energy into the right the direction and increase probability that we actually obtain it. There are impactful techniques, which allow you to open or reopen your heart, to re-establish the energy flow within and let go of what is unwanted on mental, energetic and emotional level such as past memories, emotions, fear, anxiety, tensions, stress – everything can be released.

These specific meditation techniques take their origin in the Himalayas, where Master Shiva Guruji was trained by 21 Masters before sharing Shiva Dhyan Yoga, this powerful meditation method, with the world. Shiva Dhyan Yoga meditations help you release emotions such as fear, jealousy, greed and hurt. We would like to share with you the six-step Shiva Dhyan Yoga meditation, which gives you the power to receive energy when you inhale and when you exhale, you release everything, which does not belong to you on mental, emotional and energetic level.

Shiva Dhyan Yoga Heart Meditation (See Step 1-3 below)

This meditation opens up your heart and empowers you to receive the positive and universal energy and release stress, tensions, feelings, whatever you wish to release. The more you practice, the more you will feel a sense of lightness, weightlessness and you will get a glimpse of what true freedom is. True freedom is about being yourself, who you really and authentically are. It is a state of consciousness. You don’t compare yourself with others anymore, you know who you are, what your purpose is and take action to fulfill it with enhanced awareness.

The ringer finger represents the planet Sun and the thumb represents yourself, your inner nature. Through this meditation you open up your heart and fill yourself with universal energy, whilst releasing tensions, thoughts and emotions. You clear your energy field and fill yourself with happiness and positive energy.

Shiva Dhyan Yoga Heart Meditation (See Step 4 below)

Mind Tool

In this specific meditation the mantra in Sanskrit “So Ham” is used. “man” means the mind and “tra” technique. Mantra is a technique allowing yourself to focus on your true inner nature and being. The thoughts become focused by thinking this specific mantra, which means “That I am”. It is about realizing, who you truly are. Master Shiva Guruji says that our true nature, it is always happy and always aware. Our thoughts might fluctuate, our moods might change. However, the essence of our being remains unchanged. It is this eternal part in us, which is always light, which is consciousness. And this is exactly what you realize through this meditation.

Six Steps To Open Up Your Heart

  1. The tips of the thumb and the ring finger of the right and the left hand respectively touch each other. Put the by the right hand formed tip on the heart center (at the level of the heart chakra, next to the physical heart) below the sternum with the by the left hand formed tip placed on top of the right hand. The left tip is placed on the back of the right hand below the middle finger and in the middle of the back of the right hand.
  2. The elbows are directed towards both sides with the forearms directed downwards. The shoulders and upper body remain relaxed, whilst the back is kept straight. The tips formed by the right and left hand form a channel to the heart center.
  3. While inhaling, imagine how the breath goes through this line, which is formed by the finger tips and how a stream of light is entering and think “So”. Hold the breath.

    Put your hands on the level of the shoulders, while the ring finger and thumbs are still touching each other. The Palms of the hands are directed towards the front.

  5. While exhaling through the mouth from the throat, push the hands forward in a dynamic movement while thinking “Ham” without physical force.
  6. Hold the breath until the hands and fingers are repositioned at the heart center. Restart.
